Case study design
Pick the right Azure data services for a realistic business scenario and explain the trade-offs.
Relational, non-relational and analytics data on Azure at DP-900 level.
-- Relational: Azure SQL DatabaseSELECT TOP 5 product, SUM(qty) AS unitsFROM dbo.salesGROUP BY productORDER BY units DESC; -- Non-relational: Azure Cosmos DB (NoSQL API)SELECT c.product, c.qtyFROM cWHERE c.region = 'EU'
This course gives you the big picture of data on Azure. You learn core data concepts, relational databases like Azure SQL, non-relational options like Cosmos DB and storage, and the analytics services that tie it together: Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. Each week has labs, and the course ends with DP-900 preparation.
You learn by doing: every week has hands-on exercises on Google Classroom, and every module ends with something you built yourself.
Structured and unstructured data, file formats, OLTP and OLAP.
SQL basics and the Azure SQL family of services.
Blob, ADLS Gen2, Table storage and Cosmos DB.
Ingestion, warehouses, lakehouses and real-time analytics.
What data engineers, analysts and DBAs actually do.
Practice questions and a clear exam plan.
A clear plan from the first session to the last. The pace adapts to you: if you already know a topic we move faster, and if something needs more time we take it.
Real projects you can put on GitHub and explain with confidence in interviews.
Pick the right Azure data services for a realistic business scenario and explain the trade-offs.
Create an Azure SQL database, load sample data and answer questions with SQL.
Store JSON documents in Cosmos DB and compare queries with the relational version.
The same tools used by data teams in real companies.
Every session is just you and me, never a batch. No recordings, so we can talk openly about your code.
Each session is 1 hour 15 minutes, on weekdays, weekends or both. We agree the schedule before starting.
Assignments, projects, quizzes, interview questions and homework, all organised in one place.
You build projects like the ones companies run, and get feedback on your code and design.
Common questions, live coding practice and mock interviews with honest feedback.
CV, LinkedIn, applications and interviews. I stay with you until you are hired, as long as you do the work.
You pay for your time with me, not per course. All prices are in US dollars.
